Best Mediterranean Food in New Jersey

My hubby and I enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere is very welcoming. Being vegetarians, we loved how Village Gyro had plenty of choices on their menu. We took some desserts for takeout to enjoy later. The desserts just blew us away! …We will definitely be coming here again

Started with halloumi and it was very good. Salad was fresh and delicious with a very flavorful olive oil. We shared mousaka and roast pork. Both very good.

Ultimately, both Greek and Turkish cuisines are delicious with some overlap. If you are torn between the two you can't go wrong with the Village Gyro. Fabulously delicious!!!

The falafel wrap in the soft pita was wonderful. Everything tasted bright and fresh, and the vegetables had great flavor and crunch. A simple meal done extremely well and definitely deserving of five stars.

Village Gyro is one of my go-to spots in the area. When it comes to Greek/Mediterranean, I haven't had better. Every single thing on the menu is incredible!

Cozy, authentic, and fresh. You are welcomed immediately to begin your Mediterranean experience. The hummus appetizer was delicious. The gyro(spicy) was fresh, crisp, sauce popping, and oh so satisfying. 👌

Such a cozy and welcoming Mediterranean spot. From the moment we walked in, the vibe felt warm and inviting, and the owner, Jamal, was incredibly kind and accommodating. He took the time to explain the menu and you can truly tell that everything is made with love and care—it tastes genuinely homemade. The chicken shawarma platter was amazing: the meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The hummus was fresh, smooth, and full of flavor, and you could tell the ingredients were high quality. Every bite felt authentic and comforting. What really stood out, though, was the attention and hospitality we received. Service like that makes the whole experience special. Definitely a place I would come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

They offer their Gyro with a spicy version and it is fantastic. Recently they offered to make the fries 'Greek Style', which I agree to in order to discover what that meant, and they were also quite good. Highly recommend.

Did an online order, super easy and user friendly. The staff is always so nice and accommodating. The good was stellar. So good the gyro and chicken souvlaki were perfect.

A great place that’s gotten even better! It’s been about 7-9 years since my last visit, and I’m really glad we came back to Village Gyro in Flemington. The previous owners already had a solid spot with good food, but this location is now under new ownership, and they’ve taken it to the next level. The space is now clean, beautiful, and modern, while still keeping the welcoming feel that made it good before. It’s no longer the old store/deli-style setup, the updates make a big difference. The owner is super friendly and attentive, and the service was excellent. You can tell they care about both the food and the customer experience. If you liked this place years ago, you’ll be happy to see how much it’s improved. Definitely worth checking out (or revisiting). We’ll be back!
